Towards a New Trade Policy Between the USA and Middle-East Countries: Estimating Trade Resistance and Export Potential
Article Abstract:
An estimable equation is derived from gravity models to evaluate United States export potential with Middle Eastern and North African countries. Findings show that a significant trade integration deficit is present; a free trade agreement may enable the US to improve its export potential with these countries.

Free Trade Areas in East Asia: Discriminatory or Non-discriminatory?
Article Abstract:
The authors calculate the economic effects of potential East Asian free trade areas using a bilateral gravity model. Findings show that trade creation effects resulting from a China-Japan-Korea free trade area would be significant. Implications for global free trade are discussed.
