Trust in large organizations

Article Abstract:

The hypothesis that trust encourages cooperation in large organizations is supported by different data. These include information on government effectiveness, general performance of various societies, participation in professional and civic organizations and relevance of large business enterprises. Countries with strong hierarchical religions experience lower trust as horizontal affiliations between people are discouraged.
