Turkey's computer market: mainframes, minis, CAD/CAM
Article Abstract:
Turkey's computer market is expected to grow 13% annually in the years 1993-1996. PCs, minicomputers, software and related services are expected to account for most of the growth. New investment in the construction industry should result in a growing demand for CAD/CAM/CAE equipment. Most end-users are computer literate, but companies have been slow to invest in computers due to a shortage of trained personnel. The banking and manufacturing industries, along with government and transportation services, are the biggest computer users. Joint ventures, import regulations and key contacts are discussed.

U.A.E.'s dynamic market for computers/peripherals to grow at least 20% a year
Article Abstract:
The United Arab Emirates' computer industry is expected to post an annual 20 percent growth for the next three to five years. Experts believe that the growth will be due to several factors such as improved Internet accessibility, availability of Arabic software, increased education spending and the drop in prices of brand-name and locally made personal computers. The rising investment in the country's information technology is also being seen as a contributory factor in the expected growth in computers and peripherals.
