For the third year, the British economy is growing. Economists' predictions that Thatcher economic policies would deepen the recession proved false. British policy is viewed in the light of Keynesian theory. A graph shows British gross domestic product (GDP).

Britain's textile industry may be showing signs of recovery. Imports have dropped because of the weaker pound. New technology has made factories more efficient. Management strategies have begun to cope with the real economic situation. Graphs are given.
