Will aging baby boomers bust the federal budget?
Article Abstract:
There could be pressure on the US Medicare and Social Security trust funds in the 21st century, whatever reforms are carried out beforehand. Using equity markets for employee savings accounts may boost Social Security contributions' rates of return, but risks are also involved since stock prices could fall. The solution to this problem depends on how the causes are viewed. Low real wage growth or poor returns on assets will hit younger generations, so there is a case for cutting benefits for the aged. Low fertility rates with reasonable growth of the economy may hit trust funds, and there is a case for raising taxes.

Media, education and anti-Americanism in the Muslim world
Article Abstract:
The study use data from a survey of over 10,000 respondents in nine predominantly Muslim countries to examine the correlates of these divergent perceptions, focusing in particular on media use and education. The finding regarding both media and education suggest that increased exposure to information is not necessarily correlated with more accurate perceptions of world events.
