Agencies fear clearing chaos

Article Abstract:

University admission agents have expressed fears of possible confusion over the availability of information on university courses starting in 1993, and the possibility that some newspapers could provide inaccurate information. Three newspapers, the Independent, Independent on Sunday and Observer, have access to a database, so can provide accurate information, but the Guardian newspaper is also offering an information service to would-be students, based on information from the universities' admission staff. The Guardian will be unable to supply accurate information without using the database, critics argue.
