Curse of Frankenstein
Article Abstract:
Some fictional works are having an undue influence on the public's opinion of scientific breakthroughs. Author Mary Shelly's wrote about the scientific creation of a monster called Frankenstein. The story portrays a scientific experiment which goes out of control. Some people fear modern scientific advances, in such areas as cloning and test tube babies, may lead to science becoming ungovernable resulting in the creation of monsters. The regulation of new scientific advances should not be made in response to a fictional character.

It is suggested that traditional science museums are having to compete in an increasingly competitive industry.
