Friends, Romans and West Countrymen..
Article Abstract:
A personal account of preparing a performance of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" in original pronunciation (OP), rather than the received pronunciation that is generally used, at the Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Performances in OP are given with the words spoken as it is believed they were spoken in the time of Shakespeare, with different stress and different accents than are used today. Reaction to the OP performance has been enthusiastic, with the actors feeling that it gave them a different perspective on the characters while audiences felt it made the actors sound less posh and more like regular people.

'I can't back daft policies'
Article Abstract:
Charles Tripp, reader in politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, is widely regarded as an expert on the Middle East and Middle Eastern politics. Tripp regards many of those involved from the West who are involved in the Middle East, particularly those involved in Iraq, as "utterly ignorant" people and "idealogues" and he is critical of the part the UK played in the Iraq War.
