Funding: Special Programs for Improving Science and Mathematics Education

Article Abstract:

The National Science Foundation is soliciting ideas for funding in the areas of math and science. The premise behind the funding programs is that good teachers are at the core of good education at any level. One program soliciting ideas is designed to involve science and mathematics teachers in the development or dissemination of new or improved materials. The other program is designed to recognize and honor exellent precollege mathematics and science teachers while at the same time augmenting their professional development.

Partnerships in Education: Funding Special Needs

Article Abstract:

Technology has achieved progress in many technical and medical areas. However, the new tools created to maximize the capabilities of the handicapped are often too expensive for them to buy. There are many programs available to help with this type of funding need. Foundations are listed as well as State and Federal sources of aid to the handicapped. Information of how to better prepare a funding request is included.
