Article Abstract:
Tutors planning to take students on a field trip have a duty of care to those students and must prepare properly if they do not want to be sued if anything goes wrong. The best way for a tutor to avoid litigation is by being able to demonstrate that health and safety policy was adhered to and, if the trip was overseas, that the trip was planned and organised responsibly and safely and that the law as it applied in the country visited was also complied with.
