Article Abstract:
The aim of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) is to reduce the burden of bureaucracy and regulation on colleges and universities in England. While the costs of accountability have fallen by 25% over the past four years, Hefce aims to do more and is planning measures that will help it achieve its aims more quickly.
