Article Abstract:

An analysis of the results of a survey of the world's top 100 technology universities which revealed that the Indian Institutes of Technology had taken third place in 2005. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology took first place in the table, with universities in the US accounting for 26 places in the table.

UK leaps to global success

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the results of a table listing the world's top 200 universities. It is suggested that universities in the UK are the biggest winners in the table, which is topped by Harvard University, followed by the Massaschusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge University and Oxford University.

Well-resourced private universities are still world-beaters in technology and science despite concern that the clash of knowledge and belief is undermining scholarship. The US has 11 of the top 20 universities in the world.
