Article Abstract:

Food studies can not be categorised into one discipline yet there is a growing interest in the subject. At Thames Valley University, England, a masters degree in food policy has been found to be very popular with students. Some observers point out a comprehensive food studies course would be very useful for the food industry. Food Historian Alan Davidson points out the subject incorporates several areas of study, such as history, sociology, botany and economics. Food history and food studies are studied in the US.
