A theoretical framework for sex-biased parental care
Article Abstract:
Game theory models for sex-biased parental care were developed. The models incorporated the Fisherian frequency dependence parameter as well as the trade-off between offspring fitness and the parent's residual fitness. The models proposed that male and female offspring will receive varying levels of care if the functions of the offspring vary. Moreover, male and female parents will provide different levels of care depending on parental functions and offspring functions.
