Article Abstract:

An examination of the value to computer science students from Aberystwyth University of team problem-solving exercises being undertaken on an hillside in Wales in preparation for work placements. Mark Ratcliffe, teaching director of the university's computer science department believes that the weekends are a valuable preparation for students before they go on work placement as it instills in them an idea of the importance of teamwork and helps them develop the skills of decision-making, analysis and role identification.

Article Abstract:

Ethnography projects can be an effective way of helping UK language students make the most of their year abroad. Students choose a group of people to study, and examine every aspects of their lives. Ethnography projects give a focus to the year abroad, and make students talk to people.
