Making the most of Britain's liquid assets

Article Abstract:

An overview of the advances made by the British Olympic Swimming Team in the time between the Sydney, Australia, and Athens, Greece, Olympic Games and the work done by the team's head coach, Ian Turner, and the national performance director, Bill Sweetenham. Turenre and Sweetenham argue that any improvements in the team have been achieved despite of rather than because of swimming's governing bodies, which they both believe have not invested enough in swimming in the UK.

A former England star's using his head to hit managerial goal

Article Abstract:

Former international footballer Tony Adams has never tried to hide his ambitions to enter the world of football management, but he acknowledges that he is a long way from being as well equipped to do the job as people such as Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal and his former boss. As such, Adams believes that his decision to start his retirement from football by becoming a sport-science undergraduate at Brunel University was not so much a choice, as a necessity.
