Nordic nadir for nepotism
Article Abstract:
Nepotism is a major problem in higher education in Denmark where academic appointments tend to be made on the basis of candidates' ability to contribute to a congenial working environment rather than on their ability to contribute to their field of research. Positions at Danish universities are rarely advertised in international publications and external candidates are frequently passed over in favour of less well-qualified internal ones. Several cases of plagiarism and the manipulation of scientific data have also been reported in natural sciences departments at Danish universities.

Article Abstract:
An increasing number of school children in the United Kingdom are taking up smoking. Health education is more effective when it provides information on how much the habit costs and how it affects the environment. Young male smokers tend to take up the habit when they are around ten years-of-age. Research shows that young female smokers are more inclined to continue smoking after being informed of its drawbacks because they believe it helps them to lose weight.

Article Abstract:
Eating hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts in NYC delighted a man formally from Atlanta, GA. He never could understand why the doughnuts had never been sold in NYC before. It might be because they are made of dough, which is the opposite of the bagel.
