Recipes for law-makers; the law in context

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies feel that their studies into the way laws are constructed may help avoid wrongful conviction or social injustice. Tax law, wrongful convictions and social problems such as non-payment of maintenance in divorce cases are all felt to be areas where further research is needed. The team consists of lawyers, sociologists and economists and their combined skills should be used before a legal judgement reaches the political scene.

New twists in Zimbabwe's feat of clay

Article Abstract:

Recent excavations at Greater Zimbabwe have shown similarities between those buildings and present day huts. The building material used (clay mixed with quartz) survived for centuries. There was a city supporting a population of 11,000-20,000, who raised cattle and traded with other nations. They were the ancestors of the present Shona tribe, and not Phoenicians or Arabs as originally thought.
