Refined skills or shop flawed?
Article Abstract:
Employers seek key skills in graduate employees, including the abilities to communicate with colleagues, manage time and plan. Some students who have undertaken work placements believe their development has been given less priority than the employers' needs. Placements should involve an identifiable training scheme and allow students to discuss their progress. Employers are keen to evaluate students' ability to manage people, but students feel they are not taken seriously by colleagues with greater experience of the business.

The Bible ignores Palestine
Article Abstract:
Biblical research looks at the methods with which key figures in history have used the biblical text to reconstruct history, such as the way European and American scholars have analysed ancient Israel. Iron Age Israel and its representation through the bible has been influenced by the new European nation state concept, since assumptions have been made about ancient Israel. Research about Palestine has been overshadowed by this research.

The flawed bible
Article Abstract:
'The Second Sex', by Simone de Beauvoir, is regarded as the foundation of feminist theory. The English translation done by Howard Pashley has come in for some criticism. The thought behind the book was that 'One is not born a woman, one becomes a woman.' It was the only text available on the subject of women's liberation between 1949 and 1963 when 'The Feminine Mystique' was published.
