Article Abstract:
Fascism is being revived in Europe, particularly in France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The number of racial incidents in the United Kingdom reached 130,000 in 1994, including racially-motivated murders. The level of violent attacks by fascist extremists in Germany increased more than twofold during 1991-1992, while 15% of voters in France supported Front National party leader Jean-Marie Le Pen in the 1995 presidential elections. The Front National and Italian Social Movement have both sought to be portrayed as respectable political parties.
