Sorbonne sores are soothed
Article Abstract:
The seven universities of Paris, France, which are celebrating their 25th anniversary, were created after the Sorbonne was divided into seven units in 1968. Despite much effort over the past 20 years being invested in higher education, the universities of Paris have seen little benefit, with no new buildings for higher education being built in the city between 1968 and 1993. In a bid to address the problem, the universities, including a newcomer created in 1970, joined forces in 1993 to lobby local authorities and the government to allow them to undertake new projects in the city.
