Teach the parent reach the child
Article Abstract:
Educational programs for low-income parents serve to improve not only the parents' situation but also their children's. The Teach the Parent program provides free education through departments such as apprenticeship, business education and continuing education. The program operates under the belief that children's lives change for the better when their parents enroll in classes that help them develop self-esteem as well as provide them opportunity for employment. The program is successful due to elements such as neighborhood classes, relevant curriculum, community collaboration and free classes.

Vocational education equips students with skills that will help them earn a living and build successful careers. Contrary to common belief, the vocational education curriculum includes academic courses such as English, math, science, social studies and physical education, aside from vocational courses. Moreover, vocational education graduates have the option to choose from a variety of jobs from entry level to managerial and professional levels and the chance to continue postsecondary education coursework, obtain a college or postgraduate degree in a field of their choice.
