Academy reborn as it shakes off navy blues
Article Abstract:
Mohyla Academy is a university in Ukraine which has a long history, but which was suppressed during the period of Russification from 1817, and later Soviet rule. The academy answers to the council of ministers rather than going through the education ministry. The academy was founded through an endowment in the 17th century. A Soviet naval college was established on the site of the academy, and this has been dislodged. There are flexible programs for 2,400 students at the main site in Kiev and two satellite sites.
