The robotic economy: Brave new world or a return to slavery?
Article Abstract:
The signs of a growing prevalence of robotic technology in the 21st century can be seen all around, and although robots enjoy none of the rights associated with free human beings, much of the world's economic prosperity is dependent on the competency of these increasingly intelligent devices and systems, and also on their compliance. Nevertheless, as these mechanical and computerized creations perform more of the tasks formerly performed by people, the latter may need to redefine what it means to be human.
