Human rights and the search for community
Article Abstract:
Social democracy was described as the one social system which promotes civil, economic and political rights. Research on democratization and human rights indicate that democratic countries seldom wage war against each other, seldom commit genocide and are not prone to famines. There are two main threats to liberal democracy, the communitarian movement and radical capitalism. These threats, together with religious and racial divisions in both democratic and non-democratic nations could cause local and international conflicts in the 21st century.
