Article Abstract:
The award-winning educator, Roy Peters, has some regrets about leaving teaching but believes that administration offers better prospects to serve more students. One of Roy's major responsibilities is as a legislative liaison for the Oklahoma vocational technical (vo-tech) system. Most of the vo-tech programs fail due to their inability to capture the legislators' attention. To overcome this, Roy and his staff keep in touch with the House and the Senate committee members and local editorial boards. Roy's leadership is regarded as the main reason for the success of Oklahoma's vo-tech programs.
