A decision support system for supplier selection using an integrated analytic hierarchy process and linear programming
Article Abstract:
A study developed a decision support system for supplier selection in purchasing management that factors in tangible and intangible variables for selecting the best supplier and assigning the optimum order quantity between selected suppliers. The model uses integrated analytical hierarchy processing and linear programming to assign order quantities to suppliers in a way that maximizes the total value of purchasing. The approach affords purchasing managers at least six benefits.

Design maturity assessment for concurrent engineering co-ordination
Article Abstract:
Companies that want to operate within a concurrent engineering (CE) environment must consider a well-coordinated integration of design maturity into corporate processes. Information in a CE environment must have common ownership and appropriate access as firms seek to eliminate all variables that hinder product or service development. However, firms must immediately eliminate the progress of immature design to prevent redesign and delay costs.

Strategies for encouraging and managing technological innovation
Article Abstract:
Technological innovation has produced both positive and negative results that are conditioned by a firm's management approach, culture and internal evaluation. Innovative companies exhibited 50% more profitability than other firms adopted corporate strategies that offered the most opportunities for development with innovations. These firms also followed programs that can be integrated into the corporate structure.
