A study of estimation method for mouth position using image processing technique
Article Abstract:
The coordination of the mouth position with the movement of the head is estimated using an image processing method. The human interface is utilized for the mouth position to control the meal support robot, while the three-dimensional coordinate of the mouth center is calculated and applied to some parallel images. Estimation is performed by deriving the area of the mouth from the time series images using two video cameras. It is shown that the head movement can be estimated using two estimation algorithms from the coordinate of the mouth center in almost real time. The coordinate of the mouth center is calculated using the property of the mouth area.

A fuzzy decision model for color reproduction
Article Abstract:
A model is derived for evaluating the quality of mid-range color reproductions. A fuzzy set of quality factors are introduced to the model and a numerical quality value is determined. This figure is then compared to a quality value established for specific customers and printing processes. The model was then used to evaluate 25 color reproductions. Results show that the model outperforms the conventional subjective approach to evaluation since fewer acceptable jobs are rejected.

Estimation of investment costs in fish processing plants
Article Abstract:
A mathematical model is proposed for estimating investment costs in fish processing plants of varying sizes. The model, which is based on estimation methods, is used in determining the cost-capacity factors for such plants, including the plant location, the minimum limit of industrial production capacity and the impact of various legislations. Results indicate that a global value of 0.841 is preferable for fish processing plants.
