Black & Veatch embraces fuel cells
Article Abstract:
Black and Veatch, a Kansas City-based global engineering and construction company, and Avista Labs, a fuel cell maker based in Spokane, WA, have agreed to pursue joint marketing and installation opportunities for fuel cell generators. The memorandum of agreement calls for Black and Veatch to act as a distribution channel for Avista's fuel cell generators, specifically focusing large residential, commercial and industrial greenfield projects. Black and Veatch officer Jim Wardin says the marketing pact is part of the firm's continuing effort to develop total energy solutions for its customers.

Specifying day tank and sub-base tank diesel fuel systems
Article Abstract:
Several parameters should be considered in the design and specification of a genset fuel-supply system. Among these are determining fuel capacity, regulatory environments, the needs of end users and physical limitations of the site. The most basic day tank, which ranges from 10 to 1000 gallons, pumps fuel from above- or below-ground main tank, stores it briefly and the delivers it to the genset.
