Building a practice abroad

Article Abstract:

Engineering firms planning to establish a practice abroad should seek expanding markets with established roles for engineers and acceptable business risks. Regions with the most potential are those where the GNP is growing in excess of 6% per year and where the selection process for engineering selection is aptly defined and dispute resolution procedures are based on the rule of law.

Leadership and organizational vision in managing a multiethnic and multicultural project team

Article Abstract:

Suggestions are presented for maximizing the advantages of a multiethnic and/or multicultural work group. These include avoiding stereotypes, understanding individual personalities, creating a flexible system, promoting communication, and identifying common elements.
