Consensus and conflicts in understanding productivity
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the nature of productivity. The study considers conflict regarding productivity's definition, circumscription and application and assumes that different groups in society have different ideas on the proper approach to productivity. Results show that productivity management must be considered in terms of a conglomeration of various complex activities which encompass many factors. An integrated approach to studying the productivity process is needed to understand its consensus and conflicts.

A dynamic approach to operations management: an alternative to static optimization
Article Abstract:
An alternative to the static optimization technique for analyzing operations management is presented. A dynamic approach to operations management is considered as a better alternative for managing manufacturing operations under increasingly competitive global conditions. The approach integrates knowledge, learning, contingencies and problem solving into dynamic analysis. It is shown that further research is needed to generate a more substantial basis for dynamic operations analysis.

The future factory: challenge for one-of-a-kind production
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate the problems and potential of one-of-a-kind production systems. The study focuses on such a system's requirements in product design, engineering and production system design. Results show that one-of-a-kind production industries have to strengthen their position in a highly industrialized market to maintain its strength and retain repetitive manufacturing as an impact.
