Control dioxin emissions from combustion processes
Article Abstract:
The primary sources of dioxins are municipal and industrial waste incinerators, internal combustion vehicles, coal combustion and metals processing plants. Several methods are available to control or eliminate dioxin emissions such as catalytuc destruction, treatment with powdered activated carbon, or selective adsorption. One of the most promising method is selective adsorption, using fixed-bed monoliths which feature advantages such as simpler installation, lower operating costs, low pressure drop and high adsorbent efficiency.

Bethlehem Steel bags the baghouse and stops metal fuming with CO2
Article Abstract:
Air Liquide America Corp has successfully implemented its Alect metal-fume air pollution suppression system at Bethlehem Steel Corp's Burns Harbon, IN, facility. The air pollution control system is able to minimize visible airborne emissions produced during the ground casting of beaching of iron. Alect employs carbon dioxide to prevent air from mixing with molten metal as it is cast, dumped or poured.
