Designing process capability studies
Article Abstract:
Process capability studies (PCSs) are used to decide whether a process is capable of producing products that conform to certain limits, and are becoming more widely used. However, problems with PCS can occur when estimates of process capability are taken from large sample sizes used in a short production run, so that long term variability cannot be predicted. This can be overcome by accounting for the long term process variability in the study and compensate for in manufacturing and design processes.

The process audit: Often ignored but never insignificant
Article Abstract:
Process audits validate the details of how processes are performed, but they have received little attention in professional literature. Process audits are undertaken in addition to system audits, but they are perceived as unimportant and insignificant because of their small scope. A formal schedule of a process audit is desirable to bring an element of structure to the program.
