Electronic 'Branding' of Cows, Fish, and Trains
Article Abstract:
Tracking of cows, fish, horses, or railroad cars is possible using a preprogrammed transponder, small enough to place in a syringe, from Identification Devices, Inc. The identification number of the transponder is read when an electromagnetic signal causes it to send that number to a computer. The transponder can be implanted under an animal's skin or used in employee identification badges or in a shipping label.

Dot-to-dot design: researchers are connecting tiny puddles of electrons in a chip and making them compute - the quantum way
Article Abstract:
Quantum computers based quantum dots require cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets. Spin swap and spin-rotation gates can be used as universal digital logic gates to perform an operation at the superposition state. The next stop in quantum computing is to integrate all the essential ingredients and expand the system to employ a large array of quantum dots.

Connecting Electronic Islands
Article Abstract:
CSnet is a logical network sponsored by the National Science Foundation that operates over several physical networks including ARPANET. CSnet provides a name server, gateways and software for communicating between physical networks, and a user support center. Internetwork addressing is complicated in specifying addresses.
