Department of Agriculture uses ISO 9000 to monitor quality of meat products

Article Abstract:

The implementation of ISO 9000 practices greatly improved the efficiency of the Department of Agriculture's Meat Grading and Certification Branch. The branch reduced the cost of monitoring the quality of meat supplied to school lunch programs by trimming the quality control process. A similar method was effectively used to ensure the quality of ground beef provided to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
