Introduction of the euro is changing the chemical market and giving unique opportunities for investment and production in Europe. A new chemicals market as large and as important as that of the US may develop there. Companies, some in the US, whose participation in the ChemSite Initiative, a public-private partnership with worldwide operations, include Air Liquide, Bayer Buna, BP Amoco Chemicals, Condea, ISP, Polymer Latex, Stockhausen, Puralube, Rohm and Haas, and BASF.
