Keeping tabs on the new CE mark
Article Abstract:
The European Union's CE mark is designed to show that a product is safe and has met all relevant European Union Directives. For electrical equipment, the CE mark has led to extreme confusion over different requirements among manufacturers. It is important that those using such equipment and supplies read the accompanying literature to check with which directives the products comply. An overview of the Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive and the Construction Products Directive is presented.
