New waves for new systems
Article Abstract:
The main objective of the 1995 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-95) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, is to make changes in the electromagnetic spectrum allocations according to the demand of the telecommunication technology. The use of radio services is increasing with the liberalization of regulations and the progress of radio technology. The satellite based mobile communications also needs change in the electromagnetic spectrum. The allocations in the frequency spectrum is needed by the mobile satellite systems for feeder links. New technologies can be used for the spectrum management process.

Intelligent control for autonomous systems
Article Abstract:
The construction of intelligent autonomous systems may be carried out using both intelligent and conventional control concepts. Examples of the latter include adaptive control, fuzzy learning control, knowledge-based control, neural network-based control and genetic algorithms. Each may be used either in the execution layer, coordination layer or management layer of the autonomous system. An application of this approach to intelligent vehicle-highway systems is also explored.
