Pay up or face big bad Bill
Article Abstract:
The UK's new Labour government has pledged to introduce legislation covering late payment of bills in business. The new rules, which could come into force by summer 1998, will allow businesses to claim statutory interest on unpaid invoices and will give guidelines as to when interest can be charged. However, the proposed legislation has been criticised by the British Chamber of Commerce because it could cause relationships between companies to deteriorate and will require extra resources to administer.

The changing face of LG3
Article Abstract:
The updated version of Lighting Guide 3 is to be published by the CIBSE in March 1996. They cover the lighting of areas with VDT (visual display technology) screens. Misunderstandings associated with the old rules mean that office lighting installations were often inappropriately specified with luminaires having LG3 Category 2 louvers. The new rules allow for greater flexibility and should result in Category 2 louvers no longer dominating most office environments.
