Collaborating on-line in real time
Article Abstract:
Audio conferencing, chat systems, videoconferencing and virtual environments are examined as tools for collaborative communication. Audio conferencing tools employ Internet phone systems which allow point-to-point or group communications. A chat system allows lively interactions through the use of multimedia which include text, audio and video. Less expensive cameras and software have permitted the wider use of videoconferencing. Virtual environments are of different forms from simple meeting rooms to complex three-dimensional animation environments.
