Article Abstract:
There are questions about how to accommodate the expected increase in forecast households, and the DoE is to publish a discussion paper considering the options. However the reliability of the projections have been questioned and there is a belief that more attention should be paid to environmental sustainability. There will be increasing pressure to use land not already urbanised, and any further development in the south east will mean new infrastructure.
