RFID - Rx for drug security?

Article Abstract:

California's ePedigree law requires pharmaceutical companies to put an electronic tracking system on every bottle or vial of drug before it can be sold in the state. Pharmaceutical companies could comply with the law by using either a two-dimensional barcodes or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The law was created to prevent counterfeiting and theft of drugs.

Security of wastewater treatment and transportation

Article Abstract:

Congress recently passed legislation for wastewater treatment facilities designed to mitigate acts of terrorism. Congress is also in the early development of legislation governing the transportation of hazardous materials.

EPA releases TRI data

Article Abstract:

The U.S. EPA has released its study of toxic chemicals released into the environment. Included in this report covering 2001 is a new mapping capability so that the public can better understand this information.
