Reverse engineering creates six-week wing
Article Abstract:
Prodrive was left with only six weeks to find a solution to keep them competitive when a rule change governing the Le Mans 24-hour race that reduced the allowable engine power of theVeloqx. It is found that when the full CAD model was converted into a CFD model, analysis of the downforces working on the Prodrive wing began and they were able to manufacture the new rear wing in time for track tests just six weeks after the start of the project.
