SPC on line
Article Abstract:
An increasing number of manufacturing firms view statistical process control (SPC) as an important production tool. SPC calls for the rapid acquisition of raw data from the shop floor so all feedback can be acted upon in a timely manner. Today, statistical methods are steadily moving away from office-based off-line quality control towards on-line production-based systems. The experience of several firms with SPC is presented.
