Save pipes from bursting with a compensator

Article Abstract:

Expansion compensators are small safety device instruments that essentially function as add-on pressure vessels and provide an extra margin of safety to pressure vessels and rigid piping systems. Properly sized and correctly installed compensators, which come in different shapes sizes and designs, give elasticity to otherwise rigid piping systems because they absorb the thermal expansion of a liquid. Suggested sizing rules will help engineers in the chemical process industries select the appropriate compensator to use.
