Shut up shop
Article Abstract:
Security company, Winkhaus, has installed a European Installation Bus (EIB) system in its factory in the United Kingdom. The building has shutters over each window and door and these shutters have magnetic sensors which respond when someone tries to enter illegally. A signal is sent directly to the police station via the EIB. The EIB works by linking all the building service controls on one loop. The loop in the Winkhaus building controls lighting, ventilation, heating and the windows. The system is intelligent enough to close the windows when the shutters are closed.
