Software patents don't compute
Article Abstract:
The attempts made by the United States patent system to draw a dividing line between the patentable and unpatentable machines are discussed. The reasons why the patent system like Amazon.com granted by United States Patent and Trademark Office is failing is also discussed.

The U.S. Supreme Court's standard on the "obviousness" regarding patents is vague as it is hard to define how effective this is with cases concerning patents. Some cases on patent matters and a discussion on obviousness and unobviousness are presented.
