Solving the oil equation

Article Abstract:

Repsol YPF's kaleidoscope project aims to develop a new class of seismic-imaging codes with the help of supercomputers. Solving the two-way wave equation will allow the company to search for oil under 10 kilometers of sediment and lessen the risks in oil exploration.
