Article Abstract:

Sudoku, a mathematical challenge tempts both puzzlers and researchers. An algorithm has been not yet designed to find a solution without trying out a huge number of combinations. This places sudoku in an infamously difficult class, called NP-complete. Sudoku is an ideal tool for investigating the whole class of NP problems.
