Article Abstract:
The process of diffusion - the adoption of technological innovations - is an important factor in increasing productivity and helping the United States out of its present economic difficulties. Technological diffusion can be promoted through government programs. In the past, such programs have not been given enough attention. The United States government, industry and universities have to increase their awareness of technical developments abroad and to increase communication inside the country. Tables are included.
